At the heart of every successful business is a dedicated group of employees and WHCA is proud that its own staff are second to none. However, like many charitable organisations, funds are not always available to have a permanent workforce as large as we would like, so, in order to reach our targets, we rely heavily on the support of volunteers. These are people who, selflessly, give up some of their time and to whom we are eternally grateful. Without them WHCA would not be the success that it is today.
Volunteering is a two-way thing in that not only does WHCA benefit from them, but also, volunteers have the satisfaction of knowing that they are giving something back to society which helps to instill a feeling of well-being and self-esteem. It’s a way of meeting new friends and enjoying the company of others. The amount of time that any volunteer would like to contribute is entirely up to them.
So, if you would like to consider becoming a volunteer please contact us and find out more. No previous experience or special skills are required. However, if you do have an interest in DIY, organising events, catering, gardening, working with the elderly etc, that would be a great asset.
Volunteers work at all levels. In fact, the entire Board of Directors is made up of people who give up their time for free. WHCA often considers applications for new board members so, if you think you have the attributes required to get involved in running the company by becoming a member of the board, we would be interested to hear from you.
One thing that we can guarantee is that you can be sure of a warm and friendly welcome.
